Bardøla Høyfjellshotel is now the "oldest" of the top 5 hotels in Geilo in terms of interior and design. The hotel is also home to Sofia's Cafe & Bar, one of Geilo's best restaurants. The hotel was acquired by the owners of Vestlia Resort and Highland Lodge, and is currently undergoing major renovations and alterations. The hotel will be converted into apartments for sale. The hotel will then rent out the apartments on behalf of the owners when they are not in use, according to the same model as at Highland. The hotel has a large indoor pool, a gym and two tennis courts, which are sometimes transformed into an ice rink during the winter. In addition to the hotel rooms, Bardøla has many cabins with up to 10 beds that can be rented. Bardøla has ski-in opportunities, but not ski-out. There is a separate trail down to the hotel from Havsdalen ski area. To get to the slopes you can use the ski bus that takes you to the nearest lift in just 5 minutes.
