Toppen Kafe in Vestlia is a hidden gem among the ski cafes in Geilo. It looks old and a bit worn, but is almost never crowded, and has the best view of Geilo. Here you look directly over at the slopes on Geilosiden with Hallingskarvet in the background. Toppen Cafe has been closed for the past two years, but is now re-emerging as Vaffeltoppen, serving light dishes both outside and inside. In previous seasons, homemade dishes such as goulash, stew and sausages with homemade mashed potatoes as well as baguettes, waffles, chocolate biscuits, toast and various sausages have been on the menu. When the weather gets warm enough, you can sit outside with the same great view of Geilo. PS! Toppen Kafe is so "well hidden" that Google has not placed it on its maps. However, it is easy to find. Take the chairlift up from Vestlia and you will see it on the right just before you get off the lift. Turn 180 degrees to the right when you get off and you can run straight down to it.
